PROGRAM OUTLINE COMITTEE PROJECT PLAN RESEARCH PAPERS JAPANESE

Outline of the Project Plan

SP-ICP aims to meet the objective by integrating regulator’s sense of urgency, resources drawn from domestic and international academia, and information and resources of related private sectors (manufacturer, network service provider, broadcaster, and content and application vendor).

Our project plan is as follows.

  • We make a one-year research grant to researchers aged 40 or under that are selected on a competitive basis.

  • We accept any research theme as long as it is related to the information and communication policies. For important issues, we may announce the research themes beforehand based on advices from experts in the field.

  • The selected researchers are required to submit the research proposal for the year, and to proceed research activities in accordance with the submitted and approved proposal.

  • Each researcher conducts research activities on his/her own.

  • SP-ICP holds workshops three times a year, to which all researchers are expected to attend.

  • SP-ICP may invite observers to the workshop as resource persons. The observers do not intervene in the content of each research.

  • SP-ICP will publish the research outcome as discussion papers and encourage them to be submitted to domestic and international academic journals.
